Chinese people relate each year to an animal. This is the year of the horse. The end of this month is the Chinese New Year. This is the most important of traditional Chinese holidays of reunion, family, harmony and peace. The period around Chinese New Year is also the time of the largest human migration. Almost 200 million workers in China bring their earnings home. It is an occasion to enjoy family feasts, set off firecrackers and open envelopes stuffed with gift money. Chinese people love the red color which symbolizes good luck and prosperity. Windows and doors will be decorate with red color paper cuts and couplets with popular themes of happiness, wealth, and longevity. This is part of China.
